Tricking 2 years old

How do you trick a 2 years old girl to bath in hot spring water?

My niece is having skin problem since she was a baby. Her mother has taken her to various doctors to cure her disease but no avail. So another solution is to bath her with hot spring water. It's good for your skin coz it has many minerals in there. We've tried this before to my brother who has same problem when he was a baby too (so this things run in the family I guess. Thank God I'm ok). But you have to be persistent and consistent then it works la.

After deciding which place we wanted to go, we ended up in Pedas (it was bad idea coz we stucked in traffic jam all the way from Nilai to Pedas- thanks to the long Chinese New Year holiday!). Before this, Pedas Hot Spring Water was in sad state. It has a building for bathing and pools for feet-dipping. The number of visitors can be counted in one hand. But that was 10 years ago. Now, it was transform into a theme park and the hot spring water was just one of the attraction.

So, we have brainwashed my little niece into thinking that pergi mandi air panas was the best thing ever and we succeed. Next, how to make sure she want to go into the pool. Our plan was to distract her first at the theme park before taking her to the hot spring water. Since I'm the youngest one after my niece and not pregnant, the job fell on me (I knew this was coming, thank God I brought my bathing clothes). I played with her in the kids' pool then we decided to bring her to the pool.

Since I was with her all morning, she was nice to me and followed me everywhere (very surprising, considering I'm always her last choice). When I put my legs in the water, me, as an adult (first time mengaku adult), felt that the water was HOOTT!! My niece can't wait to follow me and immediately put her legs in the water. When she felt the hotness of the water she immediately jumped out and screamed TAAAKKKNNAAKKk. Then I hold her while she kept on screaming and my mom washed her with that water. Firstly, she just screamed and when she knew that we won't stop, she started crying hysterically. Everybody stopped doing what they were doing and looked at us (Today is Chinese New Year holiday and that place was packed). Oh my God, I was embarassed. My niece was hugging me and looking at me for help. I felt sympathy to her too but this is what we have to do. Finally my dad said it was enough and he took her for a walk to cool her down.

For post mortem on the way back, we concluded that our plan was back fired. Bringing her to the theme park first was a big mistake. The theme park pool water was cold, so when we were coming from cold water to hot water, we can feel the big difference which was happening today. So the conclusion, my brother has to bring his own daughter next time and come on weekdays (coz it will be less people to witness the torture). No more golfing okay. Gee, what an experience.

(I noticed that lately my post was started with a question. Why ah?)

Mr Darcy

I just finished watching Pride and Prejudice. This was my second attempt as the first one I slept halfway through (not that the movie was boring, but I was damn tired that night plus watching at tiny laptop wasn't helping at all).

I've read this book when I was in form 5. (After being influenced by 2 Jane Austen's biggest fans). It took me months to finish it as I couldn't understand the story at first. It turn out that that the only classic book that I read (and also Little Women, but that one was the abridged version so count that out). Even though it took so long to finish it, I really like that story. I was fell in love with Mr Darcy. (Hehe, teenage love).

Now, 6 years has passed and my infatuation with Mr Darcy has renewal. He's so handsome, mysterious, often misunderstood and unbelievably rich. What I like about him is he's a man that at first glance you might think he's arrogant. But as you get to know him, he's very kind even though he's not talkative. He's a man that don't gossip (I hate men who like to gossip coz I think gossip is for ladies only) and try to win Elizabeth Bennet's heart without looking so desperate.

Tomorrow I'm going to MPH to buy my own Pride and Prejudice. There goes my Chinese New Year holiday.

Persuasion Skill

Do you have persuasion skill? How good are you when you persuade people?

Salesmen are the example people who is very good in this area. That's why you get a salesman who sold an EEG machine that was hard to use and not reliable at all.

How about a friend who is trying to persuade her own friend? Can she manages to persuade her to accept what she already rejected?

How about a guy persuade a girl to get her phone number but end up getting email address only instead? (That's even after promising to send the pictures through email, which was a lie coz I haven't receive any).

Persuasion does not only involves talking skill, but it includes body language, writing skill (?) and bribery is also a good try. Women are expert in persuading using body language. They use all the natural resources God has given them to persuade men. (I've tried this and it works perfectly). Men use words to capture women hearts. Both sexes have their strengths and weaknesses to manipulate each other.

For me, my persuasion skill is something I'm proud of. (Really ah?). If I want something badly, I use all means to get that. I don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing. So far, it had done mostly good things to me but occasionally it does harm me (just a little bit, maybe).

This Time This Month

All I want to do now is to see him. To be with him all day, all night. I don't care if I have many things to do like- I have presentation tomorrow, I haven't done any lab report (by now I have collected 3) and an assignment to be pass up by Friday. Do I care? No... This is the time of the month when your emotions control you mind. You do what you want without considering the consequences. That want come later. Geesh... typical woman. Haha. (Hey, it's hormonal thing okay).

Good old things

Sometimes in life, we would meet new people who we take notice of. They make you feel excited and challenging. You find that they are something that you never had and very interesting to be with. As you know them closely and deeply, you realize that they are not that interesting.

You started to appreciate what you have more coz you know what you have is better than the new people you just meet. You realize that just because they are new, doesn't meant they are better. They might be worse than before.

If you are lucky, (and you don't ditch the olds) you can come back and cherish your relationship. If you are unlucky (and stupid too, you ditch your olds) you end up regreting it for the rest of your life.

Fine Dining, Gorgeous Date

It was a marvellous night as we dined at Seri Angkasa Restaurant. The buffet was to die for. A lots of choices until you didn't know what to eat. From local; lemang, rojak, satay, daging rendang, laksa, to western; grilled salmon (it's so delicious), beef steak, sushi, oyster (must eat!), spaghetti, not forgetting the dessert; 7 types of cake (I think it's 7), fruits, ice-creams, and also pengat. Ahhhh..... writing this make my stomach rumble.
At the same time, we were entertained by in-house singer/pianist played all the romantic and slow songs in different languages (he even got applaused when he sang in French. I got the feeling that the table was from France). If we requested, he even sang Happy Birthday (it was funny how he pronouce birrthhday).
The service was very good (only to the waiters la, the waitresses was so cold and friendly). The view.... what more can you get when you at the highest tower in the middle of KL. The city nightline was gorgeous. Everybody started to take pictures when KLCC in in the view. And you felt international too. Mat Sallehs, Arabians, Chinese, Malays... everybody was there la.
Wow, it was like renewing your love when you're there with you loved one. I felt in love over and over again with him. He looked dashing as ever. Nevermind the view, watching him was good enough for me. The way that the light was dimmed and only table lamp was lighting the scene..... ahhhhh (ok, I'm in my jiwang mood). It felt funny as I felt like this was our first date and I kept blushing in everything he said. Hehe.
Oklah... let stop here first before I became too jiwang to handle. To lovebirds out there, try this restaurant. This is the best restaurant in KL, at least. Love this place. It's our annual place to be.

Bunian Laut and Magic Bean

This is not another story like the 3 pontianak. This is the new project I have started in the room. (For someone who has to do another 15 experiments for thesis project, this is not a good idea).

Bunian Laut is actually shrimps. But the box said Sea Fairies, so if you translated it to B. Melayu, it become Bunian Laut (and it sound funny). You actually rear the shrimps from eggs until they grow up and call you mummy (hehe). While magic bean is a bean (duh!) which will grow into a tree with word (a sentence actually) written on it. Sound interesting right.

The godmother for both Bunian Laut and Magic Bean is my roommate, Liya. Just now we just released the eggs to the salted water (imitating the sea for them to survive). It was witnessed by Yon and Nida. It was emotional moments..... like letting go your vulnerable child (ahaks!!). The Magic Bean hasn't showed any changes since we broke a hole and let it absorbed water. So we have to wait for I don't know how long. Don't worry, I'll keep you inform with the updates of our Bunian Laut and Magic Bean.

This is a change from all that emotional wreck I've been writing. (I don't want to sound like emotionally challenged from now on. (Yeah right))

Case Closed

eToday I met that someone. At my lecturer's house. I got the feeling that was a set up. The point is, now I'm sure that whatever confusing I had before was settled there. For now (and I prayed, forever) my feeling for that person was.... nothing. This is the shortest infatuation I ever had, 4 days only. Thank God for that.

I'm so for happy for that. No more stupid thoughts and feeling. Oh God, I felt so happy that I could jump off from this seat. Anyway, the reason I'm so sure about this is, when I was talking to that person just now, I felt normal (not like I'm abnormal before this). I don't feel the need to talk to him only. I don't fell happy or sad or whatever emotion when I saw and talked to that person. In conclusion, I'm cured.

Your honour, I rest my case. :-)

Acknowledgment: Thanks to En Adib and Puan Raha. Not only for the food but also the opportunity to discover my true feeling.

Brand New Look

Finally, I finished 'decorating' my blog. It took me 24 hours to think what layout I want and which website I can 'steal' and modify. Then it took another day to manipulate everything. I'm so glad it finished today coz I can't look at my blog before with that hideous design.

I would to give credits to Caz (the original creator-I have no idea who she is), Naqib for his Sony-Ericsson W800i to take the picture (please stop talking about the phone, I know it's marvellous), Jap for being my model (he's my fish) and Naqib again for recalling the knowledge I've passed to him in Photoshop and Fireworks (pardon my memory).

By the way, if anybody out there who thinks this is not pretty, I don't care. I'm proud what I have done for now la (considering my limited knowledge of designing website). But if you got any suggestions (and solution too, it would be great) just tell me kay.

One Those Nights...

Seeing someone so familiar on the stage tonight has disturbed my stable emotions. A rush of memories filled up my mind and suddenly I longing for that someone. I wanted to have the nice long conversation and the feeling of being cared. (Not that I'm not cared by anyone, but just being menggatal, I wanted from this particular person). I tried to fight this feeling coz I don't want to hurt anybody anymore.

Hmmm....that someone looked nice in pale green as I watched from far. That person looked happy and hopefully it's true.

This is ridiculous. I shouldn't even think about this.

Kisah 3 Pontianak

Kemudian, terdengar lak suara yg mendakwa dia paling hebat. Kecoh la sekejap kat situ pasal rupa-rupanya, ketiga-tiga top 3 pontianak dah tiba.

Pontianak pertama datang kehadapan. Kemudian dia menjerit, " Wahai pontianak sekalian, cuba lihat kampung tu."

"Korang sekalian nampak kampung tadi? Semua penghuni kat kampung tu dah mati. Takde seorang pun hidup. Aku dah bunuh semuanya," katanya dengan bangga.

Semua pontianak di situ terpegun. Wooooooo...... hebat giler. 20 minit je.

Kemudian pontianak kedua datang kehadapan. "Aku punya turn lak".

"Korang nampak kampung tadi. Kat belakang kampung tu ada bukit. Di belakang bukit tu ada satu kampung. Kat kampung tu semua penduduk die aku dah bunuh. Takde seorang pun hidup," katanya sambil ketawa terbahak-bahak.

Semua pontianak kat situ terpegun sekali lagi. Pontianak 2 ni lagi hebat. 10 minit je.

Akhir sekali, pontianak 3 keluar.

Semua tergamam. 5 saat je. Biar betul.

Pontianak 3 berkata," Korang nampak tak dinding kat situ?"

Semua pontianak mengangguk kepala mereka.

Sambung pontianak 3," Aku tak nampak."

Peterpan Concert

Last night, on the 1st of January 2006, I went to my first new year concert, the Peterpan concert. I'm not a big fan of Peterpan, I knew few of their songs and can't remember any lyrics except few words from each song. But Zainal got 2 free tickets so I agreed to see the concert.

It was raining all evening until night. We knew the concert would be delayed. At the ticket it was stated 8 pm but Peterpan only came out around 9.20pm. The opening acts were Pretty Ugly and Gerhana Ska Cinta which belted out few songs. By that time, it's still raining and being a non-fanatical fan, we avoided the grass and tried to squeeze under the roof.

Ok, this is the best part of the concert. I got a stomachache. In all the places and all the time in the world, it happened at this moment. It's not the normal kind, it's the one that felt like something poking your stomach at both side. God, what's wrong with me. It can't be gastric coz I just had 1901 New York Chicken hotdogs before I came here. I can't help it but I have to go to toilet. (I'm not going to tell you about the toilet, not a pretty sight). But it's not about going to toilet or whatever it want. It just won't go away. Zainal was looking at me in this please-don't-do-or-ask-stupid-stuff-at-this-moment kind of expression. Nevertheless, he's kind enough to ask me if I'm ok. I tried to smile and told him I'm ok.

Now, let's talk about the concert itself. Like what I said before, I knew only few of their songs. So most of the time I was like what's this song? I looked at Zainal and he looked puzzled too. (Then he whispered that he's sleepy). When the songs I knew came out, I was like I know this song. Haha. The highlight of this concert was when Too Phat came out singing Dua Dunia between Ku Katakan dengan Indah (I think that's the song la). I was like it's Too Phat!!!!! Ok, don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Too Phat (more than Peterpan obviously). The only song that I can sing along were Ada Apa denganmu and Mungkin Nanti. The rest was just thumping my foot following the music. At 10.30pm, Zainal asked me if I wanted to go. I was relieved when he asked me that. I found out that he has headache and tired coz he just came back from Bukit Tinggi.

Now that I'm out of that place (I won't go to any concert in Stadium Merdeka anymore. The traffic, parking and area....don't get me started), my stomachache was also gone. What the hell was that? Hmmm....

No offence to Peterpan (your concert was great and all, but I'm not just one of your fan. Your songs are nice but I get bored after few songs. It's just not my cup of coffee).

View from my seat.

He has been so patient to me.
